SOFO VII MuST FBG Portable Reading Unit
The SOFO VII reading unit is a universal interrogator from Smartec that measures both SOFO (interferometric) and MuST FBG (Fibre Bragg Grating) sensors across 4 or 8 software-configurable channels. It is built into a compact steel housing for permanent, static, long-term structural monitoring installations.

Overview
In detail
How it works
Each channel can be software-configured for either SOFO or MuST FBG sensing. A built-in field PC provides data logging (typically 5 years of data at 1-hour intervals) and remote interfacing functionality over Ethernet.
Measurement
Each channel can connect up to 5 SOFO sensors (external 1x5 splitter needed) or up to 25 MuST FBG sensors, depending on sensor type. The unit offers flexibility in sensing technology, data logging capacity, communication and temperature range to suit project requirements.
Deployment
The housing (IP66, e-coat primer, powder painted RAL 7032 pebble grey) is designed for permanent surface installation, protecting against water, rodents and accidental impact, with a key lock guarding against vandalism.
