How it works
A laser-based measurement system using Stimulated Brillouin Scattering within the sensing fiber. It monitors local strain and temperature at thousands of locations along a single optical fiber in a single measurement, making it a powerful diagnostic tool for identifying and localizing potential problems in monitored structures.
Measurement
BOTDA (loop) configuration reaches up to 60 km; BOTDR (single-end) configuration reaches up to 45 km. Spatial resolution is 1-20 m in BOTDA mode and 1.5-20 m in BOTDR mode, with accuracy down to 0.1°C and 2 microstrain. Acquisition time ranges from 1 to 15 minutes depending on the resolution selected.
Deployment
19" rack-mountable (4U), with an internal hard disk (over 500 GB) or optional SSD for data storage, and compatible with standard single-mode fiber (ITU-T G.652, G.655, G.657).
