GEOSTRING In-Place MEMS Inclinometer
GEOSTRING is an in-place MEMS inclinometer system that continuously measures subsurface tilt along a chain of sensors inside a casing, giving real-time, single-cable monitoring of ground and structure movement.
- Range
- ±30° from vertical, -10°C to +40°C
- Ingress
- Waterproof to 2 MPa (300 psi)
- Supply
- 10-30 Vdc; RS485 digital signal (requires Campbell Scientific data logger)

Overview
In detail
Deployment
Key features include easy installation, real-time monitoring and a single cable run to the datalogger; sensorless nodes are available where a location doesn't need a live tilt reading, and the components are built for long-term reliability in the field.
Applications
Typical uses include slope stability and early warning of failure, monitoring the performance of dams and embankments, tracking ground movement from tunnelling, deformation of retaining walls, and general landslide monitoring.
