d-Plucker Vibrating wire sensor interface
The d-Plucker is a Yieldpoint interface that converts vibrating-wire (VW) transducers, such as load cells, stressmeters and piezometers, into d-Tech compatible digital instruments readable by YieldPoint's d-Reader, d-Logger and d-Mesh peripherals; 1-channel and 4-channel versions are available.
- Range
- 166-2000 µs period measurement; temperature -40 to 125 °C
- Output
- RS485 (9600,8,N,1) ASCII-encoded: instrument ID, sensor type, temperature and period data
- Core technology
- 20MHz microcontroller, 0-5V 500-6000Hz sweep

Overview
In detail
How it works
A 20MHz microcontroller provides a 0-5V, 500-6000Hz sweep to pluck the vibrating wire, and the resulting period is measured and reported over RS485.
Output & accuracy
Output is an RS485 (9600,8,N,1) ASCII-encoded signal comprising a unique instrument ID, sensor type, temperature (°C) and period (µs) data. VW resolution is 0.1µs with a handheld readout, with displacement accuracy better than ±1µs. Temperature accuracy is ±1°C, digitally trimmed at 0°C and 25°C, with 0.1°C resolution.
