Borehole Accelerometer
The Borehole Accelerometer is a CSIRO-designed triaxial mine accelerometer with a fully sealed aluminium body, used in networks around block-cave mining for in-mine microseismic monitoring. It's valued for long-term stability, reliability, accuracy, wide bandwidth and low cost.
- Output
- Low-pass filtered, low-noise, high-precision
- Ingress
- High resistance to water ingress; rated for high-pressure applications
- Configuration
- Triaxial, biaxial or uniaxial

Overview
In detail
Design
The accelerometer uses a fully sealed aluminium body with reverse-wire protection, built for high resistance to water ingress and high-pressure downhole applications. It's available in low-noise, low-pass-filtered configurations across various frequency options, for high-precision, high-reliability microseismic monitoring.
Applications
It's used mainly for in-mine microseismic and ground-vibration monitoring, deployed as part of a sensor network around block-cave mining, and can be permanently grouted into a borehole for remote monitoring.
