- Supply
- DC 12V/24V

Overview
In detail
How it works
The sensor combines a light emitter, light receiver and microprocessor controller to measure near-infrared forward and backward scattering (39°-51° scattering angle, 850nm peak wavelength, 100nm bandwidth) and derive the atmospheric extinction coefficient, from which visibility is calculated.
Measurement
The ZVS reports visibility over a 5m-10km range, with accuracy of ≤2km ±2% and 2-10km ±5%, and a consistency of 4%; data updates every 0-60 seconds.
Deployment
The sensor is an integrated, compact unit with an inclined housing to shed dust, rain and snow, an anti-dust/anti-fungal coating and 15kV ESD/lightning protection; it draws less than 2W (under 5W with winter heating) from a DC 12V/24V supply and communicates via RS485/RS232 or wireless (WiFi/Bluetooth/LTE).
