Ultrasonic Anemometer
Thies Clima's ultrasonic anemometer measures wind speed and direction acoustically, capturing fast-changing gusts and peak values inertia-free with no moving parts. It's available in 1D, 2D and 3D configurations for meteorology, climate networks, wind-power and research applications.

Overview
In detail
How it works
The sensor uses an acoustic (ultrasonic) measuring principle with no moving parts, so gust and peak wind values are acquired inertia-free with high precision. Heated sensor arms allow winter operation without recalibration.
Measurement
Wind speed is measured from 0.01 to 65 m/s, accurate to ±0.1 m/s up to 5 m/s and ±2% above that. Wind direction covers the full 0-360° at ±1° accuracy. The 1D, 2D and 3D models measure progressively more axes of the wind vector.
Connectivity
The sensor provides a digital RS-485/RS-422 output alongside analogue 0-10 V and 4-20 mA channels, and runs from a 12-24 VAC/DC supply drawing 3 VA standard (150 VA with heating enabled). The housing is rated IP65 and operates from -55°C to +70°C.
