TS-1000 Turbidity Sensor
The Greenspan TS-1000A is an Australian-made analogue turbidity sensor with an integral self-cleaning wiper, built for long-term reliable operation at remote sites prone to bio-fouling or sedimentation. Its acetal body and double O-ring design suit harsh and marine environments.

Overview
In detail
Measurement
Turbidity is measured using a 90° infra-red technique per ISO7027, available in standard ranges of 100, 400 or 1000 NTU. Resolution scales with range: 0.1 NTU (100 NTU range), 0.2 NTU (400 NTU range) or 0.3 NTU (1000 NTU range), with linearity of ±1% (100 and 400 NTU ranges) or ±3% (1000 NTU range) at 25°C.
How it works
An integral silicon wiper blade on a PVC arm self-cleans the lens. The field-replaceable wiper is triggered by pulling a control wire to ground momentarily (pulse time over 50 ms) and completes one revolution in under 8 seconds, reducing bio-fouling and sedimentation-related maintenance at remote sites.
Deployment
The durable acetal body and double O-ring design suit acidic or salty waters where stainless steel is unsuitable, including marine applications and waterways with high sediment loads. The sensor is fitted with a moulded polyurethane cable, measures 417.5 mm x 47 mm (L x OD), and outputs 4-20 mA or 0-2.5 V DC from an 8-30 V DC supply.
