SMP6 Pyranometer
The SMP6 is an ISO 9060 spectrally flat Class B pyranometer from Kipp & Zonen with an RS-485 Modbus RTU interface and amplified analogue output. Its wide 5-30 VDC power supply range and temperature-corrected measurement data make it easy to integrate into meteorological and solar-energy stations.
- Output
- 4 to 20 mA / 0 to 1 V (analogue, -A/-V version)
- Supply
- 5 to 30 VDC
- Spectral range
- 280 to 3000 nm (20% point); 285 to 2800 nm (50% points)

Overview
In detail
Measurement
The SMP6 combines the sensor technology and housing of the CMP6 thermopile pyranometer with a smart digital interface, giving improved response time and temperature-corrected measurement data over the analogue-only version.
Connectivity
The sensor provides both an amplified analogue output (4 to 20 mA or 0 to 1 V, depending on version) and a 2-wire RS-485 Modbus digital output, allowing a seamless changeover when re-calibrating or replacing units.
