SHP1 Pyrheliometer from Kipp & Zonen
The SHP1 is Kipp & Zonen's smart pyrheliometer for measuring direct normal irradiance, combining an amplified analogue output with a digital RS-485 Modbus interface.

- Response time (95%)
- <2 s

Overview
In detail
How it works
The SHP1 measures direct normal solar irradiance with extremely low power consumption, so internal heating does not affect detector performance, and individually measured temperature correction from -40°C to +70°C. It meets ISO 9060 Spectrally Flat Class A performance.
Connectivity
Both an amplified analogue output (0-1V or 4-20mA version) and a 2-wire RS-485 Modbus (RTU) digital output are available. SmartExplorer software is used for configuration.
Power
The sensor operates from a wide 5 to 30 VDC supply and is protected against reversed polarity, over-voltage and short circuits, making it suited to power-critical applications. It carries a 5-year warranty.
