Radiation Shields
These naturally-ventilated radiation shields protect temperature and humidity probes from solar radiation error, using double-louvered UV-stable polycarbonate plates across a range of sizes to suit different probe diameters.

Overview
In detail
How it works
Double-louvered plates shield an internal probe from direct and reflected solar radiation, reducing the measurement error this radiation would otherwise cause. The newer RAD 06/10/14 shields add matt black undersides to further cut reflected radiation influx, and the whole louvre stack dismantles easily for cleaning.
Models
RAD 01 and RAD 02 have a large internal area (100 mm diameter) and house probes from 5-12 mm and 14-25 mm respectively. The smaller, more compact RAD 06, 10 and 14 shields cover the same probe diameter ranges in a lighter, more rugged package: RAD 06 (5-12 mm probes), RAD 10 (9-17 mm) and RAD 14 (14-25 mm).
Mounting
A stainless steel V-bolt and securing nuts fit poles between 25 and 51 mm in diameter, on either horizontal or vertical structures. Construction is a gloss white aluminium arm with 'Surtec 650' pre-treatment and, on the RAD 06/10/14 range, durable white polyester powder coating. All models are RoHS compliant in conjunction with sensors.
