The Greenspan PS-7000A is an Australian-made, submersible stainless steel water level pressure sensor with a standard 4-20mA loop-powered output, designed for durability in harsh field environments.

How it works
The PS-7000A uses a ceramic-based capacitive element as its transducer, with active electronics integral to the transducer substrate for reliability and accuracy. Water pressure applied to the ceramic element deforms its shape, and the electronics measure the resulting change in capacitance. An onboard microprocessor converts the transducer output to a digital signal and also measures transducer temperature, which is used to temperature-compensate the sensor over 0-50°C. The result is converted to an analogue output, typically 4-20mA.
Durability
The 22 mm diameter body is made from tough 316 stainless steel, combined with the ceramic capacitance transducer and a double O-ring seal to endure harsh environments. The sensor comes fitted with a moulded polyurethane cable. Gauge (vented) sensors use a Closed Vent System (CVS) for barometric pressure venting, removing the need for regular desiccant replacement.
Options
An optional SDI-12 adapter can provide a level and temperature output for external controllers or data loggers. The sensor can also be re-ranged, and its fluid density and gravity settings adjusted, to suit specific applications.
