POM-01 Sky Radiometer
The Prede POM-01 is an automatic ground-based sky radiometer that measures direct solar and diffuse sky radiance across seven narrow wavebands using a single detector and a rotating filter wheel, primarily used for atmospheric and aerosol research.

Overview
In detail
How it works
A single silicon photodiode detector paired with a rotating filter wheel measures radiation at seven wavelengths (315, 400, 500, 675, 870, 940 and 1020 nm). An integrated sun tracker actively corrects the instrument's pointing during use, allowing direct solar measurements or measurements at specified angles away from the sun. Programmed sky scans can also collect diffuse and scattered sky radiance.
Deployment
Installation is quick and simple. A precipitation sensor is included: the radiometer automatically points downward when it starts raining to keep the optics clean, reducing the need for external maintenance.
The POM-01 must remain connected to a PC running the operating software in order to take measurements and store collected data.
