NR Lite2 Net Radiometer
The NR Lite2 is a double-sided net radiometer that measures net radiation — the balance between incoming and outgoing radiation — using a thermopile detector under black PTFE-coated conical absorbers, with no fragile domes to maintain.
- Output
- 10 µV/W/m² sensitivity
- Spectral range
- 0.2 to 100 µm (200 to 100,000 nm)
- Response time
- < 20 s

Overview
In detail
How it works
Two black PTFE-coated conical absorbers face up and down, each covering a thermopile detector; the output signal is the difference between incoming solar/sky radiation and outgoing ground radiation. The anti-stick, weather-resistant coating and dome-free design keep the sensor virtually maintenance-free.
Deployment
A vertical stick above the sensor deters birds from affecting the output signal, and the mounting rod is compatible with Kipp & Zonen CMB1 brackets for attaching to walls, flat surfaces or poles. The wide spectral response and rugged construction suit agricultural-meteorological, hydrological and climate-study deployments in harsh environments.
