NIVOLIC Water Level Sensor V Notch weir Sensor
The NIVOLIC WL water level sensor suspends a cylindrical weight from a vibrating-wire transducer inside a chamber that hangs partially in the monitored water body; changes in water level alter the buoyancy on the weight and the transducer's resonant frequency. Combined with a weir, it is commonly used to monitor water flow and assess dam performance.

Overview
In detail
How it works
A cylindrical weight hangs partially in the water inside the chamber, suspended from a vibrating-wire transducer. As the water level changes, the buoyancy force on the weight changes, shifting the tension and resonant frequency of the vibrating wire. An integrated thermistor also measures temperature.
Deployment
Available in five standard ranges — 100, 150, 300, 450 and 600 mm — with each sensor individually calibrated. Cabling is IRC-41A (PVC jacket) or IRC-41AP (polyethylene jacket), both twisted shielded pairs on 22 AWG conductor with drain wire, 6.4 mm OD. When paired with a weir, the sensor is commonly used to assess dam performance by monitoring water flow.
