NIVOLIC SG Settlement Gauge
The NIVOLIC SG settlement gauge is a multipoint liquid-level system that uses a chain of vibrating-wire chambers, connected by a shared liquid line, to measure relative settlement between monitoring points.
- Range
- 100, 150, 300, 450, 600 mm
- Accuracy
- ±0.1% F.S. (each sensor calibrated individually)
- Resolution
- Vibrating wire 0.02% F.S. (min.); temperature 0.1°C

Overview
In detail
How it works
A series of chambers is linked by a liquid line and installed at the points to be monitored. Each chamber suspends a weight from a vibrating-wire transducer; as the liquid level in a chamber changes with settlement, the buoyancy force on the weight shifts, changing the transducer's resonant frequency. One chamber in the string serves as a fixed reference so relative movement between all other points can be calculated.
Measurement
Each sensor is individually calibrated to ±0.1% full scale, with a vibrating-wire resolution of 0.02% F.S. (min.) and a built-in thermistor reading temperature to 0.1°C. Standard ranges are 100, 150, 300, 450 and 600 mm; the number of chambers and cable/tube lengths are specified per project.
Deployment
Cabling is IRC-41A (PVC jacket) or IRC-41AP (polyethylene jacket), both twisted shielded pairs on 22 AWG conductor with drain wire, 6.4 mm OD. Typical applications include dam foundations, bridge deflection, and structural settlement monitoring of buildings and floor slabs.
