MP47 pH Sensor
The Greenspan PH-1000L is a logging pH sensor with an integrated data logger built into a 47 mm probe body, designed for long-term unattended field deployment in 2-inch boreholes.
- Range
- 0–14 pH
- Output
- internal data logger; optional SDI-12 serial output (3-wire) via adaptor
- Supply
- 8–30 V DC (at sensor), or optional on-board battery pack

Overview
In detail
How it works
The PH-1000L uses a gel-filled glass electrode with an internal Ag/AgCl reference and a field-replaceable electrode, measuring 0–14 pH to ±0.2 pH. Its integrated logger records via SensorMate software, with an optional SDI-12 adaptor for 3-wire serial output, so regular site visits aren't required.
Power and memory
The sensor runs from 8–30 V DC at the sensor, or an optional on-board battery pack, drawing under 0.2 mA asleep, 20 mA logging and 30 mA communicating. The internal logger holds 4 Mb of non-volatile, battery-backed memory, typically around 250,000 readings at a 5-minute interval over more than 12 months.
Applications
Used for sewer monitoring, streams, rivers, lakes and urban waterways, catchment studies and forestry management, water supply storage stratification studies, water and wastewater treatment monitoring, groundwater analysis, industrial and acid sulphate studies, and tidal, estuary and oceanographic monitoring.
