Lufft WS600 Compact Weather Sensor
The Lufft WS600 is an all-in-one compact weather station measuring air temperature, relative humidity, air pressure, wind speed/direction, precipitation type/intensity/quantity via an optical precipitation sensor, and orientation via an integrated compass.

Overview
In detail
How it works
The WS600 combines temperature, humidity, air pressure, ultrasonic wind speed/direction and precipitation sensing behind an aspirated, heated radiation shield, giving WMO-compliant accuracy with no moving parts. Data processing is built in, and the sensor is rated -50 to +60°C for use in all climates. It is compliant to IEC 61724-1:2017.
Precipitation sensing
The top-mounted precipitation sensor distinguishes rain from snow and measures droplet size (0.3-5 mm), particle velocity and intensity, resolving down to 0.01 mm/h with an intensity range up to 200 mm/h and reproducibility typically above 90% under laboratory conditions.
Connectivity
Ships standard with RS485 Modbus communications; SDI-12 is available on request at time of order. The open protocol (UMB-Binary, UMB-ASCII, Modbus-RTU/ASCII, XDR, SDI-12) is compatible with most commercial Met/HydroMet dataloggers and PLC systems.
