Lufft WS503 Compact Weather Station
The Lufft WS503 is an all-in-one compact weather station measuring air temperature, relative humidity, air pressure, wind speed/direction and solar irradiance via a tiltable pyranometer that supports both global horizontal (GHI) and plane-of-array (POA) measurement, plus an integrated compass.

Overview
In detail
How it works
The WS503 combines temperature, humidity, air pressure, ultrasonic wind speed/direction and solar irradiance sensing behind an aspirated, heated radiation shield, giving WMO-compliant accuracy with no moving parts. Data processing is built in, and the sensor is rated -50 to +60°C for use in all climates. It is compliant to IEC 61724-1:2017 Class C.
Solar measurement & orientation
The pyranometer tilts across a 0-60° range, letting it capture plane-of-array irradiance for tilted PV arrays as well as standard global horizontal irradiance (GHI), up to 2000 W/m² over a 300-2800 nm spectral range. An integrated compass reports orientation over 0-359° at 1.0° resolution, ±10° accuracy, sampled every 5 minutes.
Connectivity
Ships standard with RS485 Modbus communications; SDI-12 is available on request at time of order. The open protocol (UMB-Binary, UMB-ASCII, Modbus-RTU/ASCII, XDR, SDI-12) is compatible with most commercial Met/HydroMet dataloggers and PLC systems.
