Lufft WS400 Compact Weather Station
The Lufft WS400 is a compact, all-in-one weather station that measures air temperature, relative humidity, air pressure and precipitation. It has no moving parts and is built for a -50 to +60°C climate range to WMO-compliant accuracy.

Overview
In detail
How it works
The WS400 measures air temperature, relative humidity and air pressure, plus precipitation (rain and snow) by droplet detection, with sensors protected by a radiation shield for accuracy and to meet WMO guidelines. With no moving parts and built-in data processing, it is robust and easy to use across all climates. It ships as standard with Modbus communications; SDI-12 output can be supplied on request, and an optional external temperature probe can be fitted, for example as a back-of-module temperature sensor in PV solar applications.
Mounting
The sensor mounts directly onto a 60 mm diameter pole using the supplied 'U' mounting brackets, or via an optional mounting arm that attaches to 40-80 mm diameter poles.
Connectivity
Communication is via an RS485 interface supporting UMB-Binary, UMB-ASCII, Modbus-RTU, Modbus-ASCII, XDR or SDI-12 protocols, giving compatibility with most commercially available Met/HydroMet data loggers and PLC systems through an open communication protocol. An external temperature probe or a Lufft WTB100 rain gauge can be added as optional extras.
