Overview
In detail
How it works
The WS200 uses ultrasonic sensing to measure wind speed and wind direction simultaneously, with data processing built into the unit. With no moving parts, it is robust and largely maintenance-free even in harsh environments. It ships as standard with Modbus communications; SDI-12 output can be supplied on request, and an optional surface temperature probe can be fitted for applications such as measuring back-of-panel temperature in PV solar installations.
Mounting
The sensor mounts directly onto a 60 mm diameter pole using the supplied 'U' mounting brackets, or via an optional mounting arm that attaches to 40-80 mm diameter poles.
Connectivity
Communication is via an RS485 interface supporting UMB-Binary, UMB-ASCII, Modbus-RTU, Modbus-ASCII, XDR or SDI-12 protocols, giving compatibility with most commercially available Met/HydroMet data loggers and PLC systems through an open communication protocol.
