LP and MP Inflatable Packers
The LP and MP series are inflatable packers used to seal boreholes or casings, consisting of an inflatable rubber gland on a stainless steel centre tube. They can be inflated with water, air, nitrogen or other fluids to fit a wide range of hole diameters.

How it works
The gland flexibility and range of inflation pressures give a tight seal against irregular, rugged borehole or casing walls, and the same size packer fits a wide range of hole diameters. The gland element is a rubber membrane reinforced with extensible steel fabric and covered with an additional layer of abrasion-resistant rubber, terminated at both ends by threaded swaged steel collars. One end head is fixed and contains the inflation port; the other is free to move, letting the gland retract about the centre tube as it inflates.
The model number (for example 30-53) refers to the deflated and fully inflated diameters in millimetres. The LP series inflates under low pressure and the MP series under high pressure. Both single and double packer units are available, and a wireline-compatible assembly can be supplied. A NPT pipe thread terminates the top end of the centre tube.
