Logging Turbidity Sensor TS-1000L
The Greenspan TS-1000L is an Australian-made logging turbidity sensor with an integrated data logger and self-cleaning wiper, designed for long-term, low-power deployment at remote sites prone to bio-fouling or sedimentation. Turbidity measurement helps assess water quality by indicating scattered light levels within a water column.

Overview
In detail
How it works
The TS-1000L measures turbidity using a 90° infra-red method conforming to ISO7027, and is available in 100 NTU, 400 NTU or 1000 NTU ranges (other ranges to order). Readings are recorded by an internal, non-volatile battery-backed data logger with real-time clock and retrieved via SensorMate software, or via an optional SDI-12 adaptor (3-wire serial). Memory capacity is 4 Mb, typically 250,000 readings (over 12 months at 5-minute intervals).
Deployment
An integral wiper provides long-term reliable operation at sites where bio-fouling or sedimentation is likely, and a durable acetal body with double O-ring sealing suits harsh-environment and marine applications, including waterways with high sediment loads and acidic or salty conditions where stainless steel is unsuitable. The sensor is supplied with a moulded polyurethane cable and a field-replaceable wiper pad, and runs from an 8 to 30 V DC supply or an onboard battery pack, drawing under 0.2 mA on sleep, 20 mA while logging and 30 mA while communicating.
