Lambrecht Rain Gauge Rain E 400
The Lambrecht rain[e]400 is a precipitation sensor that combines a self-emptying tipping-bucket mechanism with load-cell weighing to deliver 0.001 mm resolution rainfall measurement year-round without antifreeze fluid. It outputs via SDI-12, RS-485, pulse, status and 4-20 mA for integration with standard dataloggers.

How it works
The rain[e]400 combines the traditional tipping-bucket approach with load-cell weighing precision to give a resolution of 0.001 mm. Its unique self-emptying system allows single-drop measurement while maintaining that high resolution, and it operates through the entire year without antifreeze fluid, making it environmentally friendly and easy to maintain.
Outputs
The gauge provides SDI-12 and RS-485 (SDI-12, ASCII or TALKER protocol) digital outputs, two pulse outputs, a status output, and optional analogue 0/4-20 mA output.
Operating conditions
The all-metal housing is weatherproof to IP67 and durable, with a compact, low-weight, robust construction. The unheated model operates from 0 to +70 °C; a heated variant extends operation down to -40 °C for cold or mountain sites, with dual heating circuits for the hopper and the drain/tipping bucket.
