HYDLO Hydraulic Load Cell
The HYDLO Hydraulic Load Cell is a sealed, oil-filled cell that measures tensile or compressive load in tiebacks, rockbolts and structures via a directly connected pressure gauge, in six capacities from 250 kN to 2000 kN.

How it works
The HYDLO consists of two plates welded together around the periphery and filled with de-aired oil, directly connected to a pressure gauge scaled in kPa. Load applied to the cell induces an oil pressure variation sensed by the gauge, and the load value in kN is read from a table on the calibration sheet. Its compact size makes installation easy and readings quick and simple.
Configurations
Two configurations are available: a hollow-centre cell for monitoring tensile load, which allows an anchor to pass through the cell, and a solid-centre cell for monitoring compressive load. Both can be connected by flexible tubing to a remote vibrating-wire or electrical 4-20 mA pressure transducer for remote reading where cell access is difficult.
The HYDLO can accommodate small inclinations in loading; larger misalignments should be compensated with spherical seats. Because hydraulic cells are sensitive to temperature changes, non-hydraulic cells (e.g. VH and ANCLO) are better suited to applications with significant temperature fluctuations.
