Overview
In detail
How it works
The eTelecast HIMAWARIcast ground station provides the hardware and updated software needed to receive, process and display Himawari-8 data, which took over dissemination from the older MTSAT system. The receiving hardware supports both Ku-Band and C-Band DVB and DVB-S2 transmissions.
Data output
HIMAWARIcast generates a new full-disk earth image every 10 minutes, a much higher observation frequency than the 60-minute earth disk of the MTSAT system it replaced. It provides this imagery with the same number of bands and the same spatial resolution as the MTSAT HRIT/LRIT services.
Software
Client-side datacasting is handled by separate KenCast Professional Fazzt client software.
