FOR-1 Single Channel Data Acquisition Unit
The FOR-1 is a single-channel, battery-powered fibre optic readout unit for measuring pressure, temperature, strain and displacement with fibre optic transducers, with complete immunity to microwave and RF radiation and intrinsic safety for hazardous environments.

How it works
The FOR-1 uses a white-light cross-correlator to measure the absolute cavity length of Fabry-Perot fibre optic transducers with high accuracy. A 7-digit gauge factor affixed to each transducer's connector lets the readout automatically recognise the transducer type and calibration.
Data and power
A non-volatile memory buffer stores up to 50,000 data samples, with datalogging sequences, duration and other parameters programmable from the front panel or via the RS-232 communication port. The unit runs for 8 hours on a full battery charge (0.5 W consumption) or from a 10-14 V DC supply (AC/DC adapter included).
Display and output
The FOR-1 has a 1×16 character backlit LCD display, a standard ±10 V analogue output with screw connectors, and optional relay output and 0-5 V analogue input.
