Dynamic Cone Penetrometer
The Dynamic Cone Penetrometer (DCP) determines the in-situ strength of underlying soil by measuring how far the device penetrates the soil with each blow. It is built for rapid strength testing of existing flexible pavements constructed with unbound materials, to Australian Standard AS1289.6.3.2.

Overview
In detail
How it works
A hammer drives the penetrometer into the ground, and the penetration achieved per blow is used to derive the in-situ strength of the underlying soil. The unit is built to Australian Standard AS1289.6.3.2.
What's included
The kit includes an instruction manual, a copy of Australian Standard AS1289.6.3.2, and conversion charts for translating blow counts to CBR (California Bearing Ratio) and to allowable bearing capacity in kPa.
