How it works
A stainless steel probe on a flat steel survey tape is lowered down an open bore until it contacts the water surface, completing a circuit that triggers an audible and visible alarm; the operator then reads the depth from the tape at the collar. The probe includes a sensitivity control to prevent false readings from dripping water.
The tape is stretch-resistant steel, enamelled yellow and marked in red (metres) and black (cm, mm), with a clear polyethylene coating and stainless steel conductors for corrosion resistance.
What's included
Supplied on a plastic cable reel (430 x 320 x 200 mm) with an inbuilt, removable indicator unit featuring an off/on switch and battery test button, powered by a replaceable 9V (PP3) battery. Available in 30 m (2.75 kg), 50 m (3 kg), 100 m (4 kg), 200 m (5 kg) and 300 m (8 kg) tape lengths.
