d-SPLITSET Instrumented Splitset
The d-SPLITSET is an instrumented version of the SplitSet friction rock bolt that measures deformation and load at five points along the bolt, assessing the factor of safety against bolt rupture.
- Range
- 0-24.0 short tons (load)
- Output
- RS485, transmits over 1000 ft, readings in tons per node
- Resolution
- 0.01 ton

Overview
In detail
How it works
Five miniature inductive displacement sensors are secured along a flexible probe inside the bolt, measuring displacement against five fixed aluminium anchors in the bolt cavity as the SplitSet stretches under load. Readings are output directly in tons, one per sensor, for immediate interpretation of bolt load.
Each instrument is individually calibrated, with a calibration sheet supplied per unit.
Installation
The d-SPLITSET is interchangeable with a standard SplitSet bolt (compatible with SS33, SS39 and SS46 International Rollforms bolts) with no change to bolt characteristics. Installation is a modified SS bolt in the borehole, then sliding and locking an electronic probe inside it and connecting a single 4-conductor lead wire to a data logger or manual readout - no configuration required.
