Overview
In detail
How it works
An on-board microprocessor gives readings directly in millimetres, with a unique individual ID tag and an on-board temperature sensor for each unit. Resistance to stretching is manually adjustable for complete adaptability to soil and grout conditions, and high-profile anchor points give better tracking of soil movement. The instrument is completely immune to water and will keep working even if distal sections are lost.
Deployment
Anchor points are 6 in (150 mm) long and 1¾ in diameter, with steel washers for a secure grip in soft grout; the recommended grout mix is 5 parts water, 2 parts Portland cement and 1 part bentonite by weight. It is compatible with an Ethernet gateway, WiFi gateway or RF node, and stores up to 100 ASCII characters per reading.
