CMP6 Pyranometer
The CMP6 is a Kipp & Zonen pyranometer with improved performance over the CMP3 thanks to greater thermal mass and a double-glass dome, suited to hydrological, agricultural and general solar monitoring.
- Output
- 5 to 20 µV/W/m²
- Spectral range (50% points)
- 285 to 2800 nm
- Response time
- 18 s

Overview
In detail
How it works
The CMP6 shares its sensor with the smaller CMP3 but improves on it with increased thermal mass and a double-glass dome construction. It needs no power, instead producing a low voltage output of 0-20 mV relative to the radiation received; the AMPBOX accessory can boost this to a higher voltage or 4-20 mA signal.
Deployment
An integral bubble level, raised to the top of the housing, can be checked without removing the snap-on sun shield, which also covers the connector. The connector's gold-plated contacts allow easy exchange and re-calibration, and the screw-in drying cartridge is easy to remove, with replacement desiccant supplied in refill packets.
