CMP22 Pyranometer
The CMP22 is Kipp & Zonen's research-grade pyranometer, built with a high-quality quartz dome for wider spectral range, improved directional response and reduced thermal offsets.
- Output
- 7 to 14 µV/W/m²
- Spectral range (50% points)
- 200 to 3600 nm
- Response time
- 5 s

Overview
In detail
How it works
Individually optimised temperature compensation and a standard thermistor for monitoring housing temperature reduce directional error below 5 W/m². Each instrument ships with its own temperature and directional (cosine response) test data. Like other Kipp & Zonen pyranometers it requires no power, instead producing a low voltage of 0-20 mV proportional to incoming radiation; an AMPBOX can boost this to a higher voltage or 4-20 mA signal.
What's included
Common accessories include the AMPBOX signal amplifier, a ventilation unit to control temperature and prevent dew, dust, frost and snow build-up, unventilated or ventilated mounting plates (single or albedometer pairs), mounting brackets, a shadow ring for diffuse-radiation measurement, an adjustable tilt kit for Plane of Array studies, and signal cables in 10, 25, 50 and 100 m lengths.
