Biaxial Chamber Hoek Cell
The Biaxial Chamber (Hoek Cell) is a biaxial compression testing vessel with a pressurisation pump, used in the laboratory and on site to determine the Poisson's ratio and Young's modulus of elasticity of rock core samples.

Overview
In detail
How it works
A rock core sample is compressed inside the biaxial compression vessel, commonly known as a Hoek cell. It is particularly suited to site testing of cores immediately following overcoring of the CSIRO Hollow Inclusion Stress Cell, in the determination of Poisson's ratio and Young's modulus of elasticity.
Modularity
The cell is modular, so changeover kits can be purchased to test multiple core diameters rather than buying a dedicated cell for each core size.
