Biral BTD-300 Lighning Detection Radar

The BTD-300 is a standalone thunderstorm/lightning detection sensor that detects and warns of overhead lighting before the first strike.

Features:
  • Warns of overhead lightning before the first strike
  • Range of 83km – exceeds FAA requirements
  • Meets FAA performance requirements for Aerodromes
  • EN50536:2011+A1:2012 requirements for a Class 1 detector
  • IEC 62793 performance requirements for a Class A detector
  • Serial or Ethernet output
  • Unique quasi-electrostatic operating principle virtually eliminates false alarms

Description

Biral Lightning Detection Radar – BTD-300

The BTD-300 lightning detection radar from Biral is capable of detecting lighting, before the first strike, up to 83km away.

The BTD-300 utilises a unique quasi electrostatic operating principle, this gives superior lightning detection capabilities but with a very low false alarm rate.

With an ethernet or serial output, the BTD-300 can be easily integrated into a weather monitoring system or directly into a standard PC when using the supplied software.

As the BTD-300 meets EN50536:2011+A1:2012 requirements and IEC 62793 performance requirements for a
Class A detector and FAA performance criteria, it is perfect for installations at aerodromes.
